On the joint initiative of the EMRC, the Ford Foundation and the Rockfeller Foundation a meeting on human reproduction was organised in 1978.
The participants recommended to the EMRC the setting up of an Advisory Subgroup on Human Reproduction. The tasks will be to define areas for European collaboration, to find ways for concerting activities with other international organizations interested in research concerning the socio-demographic aspects of human reproduction and to establish contacts with the pharmaceutical industry.
