The silver Medal (4.5cm in diameter) is placed in a white-golden plush case (9/9/2cm) holding a Vatican emblem on the front. The face of the Medal portaits John Paul II with an inscription: 'Anno X. Johannes Paulus II Pont. Max.' The reverse includes an inscription: 'MARIA MATER ECCLESIAE - ANNO MARIANO 1987-1988'. The case contains a certificate nr 0517/6000. The case is placed in a white paper box containing a papal emblem and an inscription: 'Medaglia Pontificia Anno X'.
