The golden Medal is placed in a light brown box (8.5cm/9.5cm/3.5cm) which has an inscription 'Monnaie de Paris' inside. The face of the Medal presents the bust of the Republic wearing a lion's skin, signed GAYRARD at the bottom. The reverse includes an inscription 'Sénat' and an inscription: 'Bronislaw Geremek. Ministre des Affaires étrangères de Pologne. 15 juillet 1998'
