Bronisław Geremek was presented the Medal by the King of Spain Juan Carlos while joining the European Academy of Yuste in 2004 (sillón Ludwig van Beethoven).

The Medal of an irregular shape (5/5.5cm) attached to a green-yellow ribbon is placed in a dark blue box (9/14.5/4.5cm) with golden elements on the front and inscriptions 'Castellano oyeros. Fundada en 1888' and 'Plata de ley' inside. The face of the white-yellow-blue Medal holds an inscription 'Academia Europea de Yuste' and the round EU flag. The reverse includes an inscription: ' L. V. Beethoven. Octubre 2004'.
