The Medal is placed in the dark-red wooden box (12.5cm/9.5cm/5.5cm) with a inscription 'Carolus Magnus' on the front. Inside the box, there is a brown case (8cm/8cm/2.5cm) containing a Medal of a diameter of 4cm. The face of the Medial portraits Bronisław Geremek, while the reverse is patterned with the simplified eagle of the Aachen coat of arms.
