Gazeta Wyborcza emerged on 8 May 1989 as a media branch of Solidarity movement ahead of 4 June 1989 semi-free election which resulted from the Round Table talks between Solidarity and the communist government. Clippings relate to the period B. Geremek held the post of Foreign Minister of Poland and cover issues such as Polish EU and NATO accessions, relations with Russia, war in the Balkans, EU-US relations, political situation in Poland.
