Gazeta Wyborcza emerged on 8 May 1989 as a media branch of Solidarity movement ahead of 4 June 1989 semi-free election which resulted from the Round Table talks between Solidarity and the communist government. Issues covered in the clippings are: Bronisław Geremek leadership as chairman of Solidarity group in the Sejm (lower chamber of Parliament), Polish foreign policy after the collapse of communism, future constitution of Poland.
