Abstract

CEETTAR Project 06 "Le dialogue social dans les PECO (Pays de l’Europe Centrale et Orientale) pour mieux intégrer la dimension européenne" (PECO I)

The project, within the framework of the EU programmes and actions in the Social and Employment sectors, involved three (at the time) candidate countries: Estonia, Latvia and Poland.
It aimed to integrate the agricultural, rural, and forestry contractors from Eastern Europe into the European professional landscape, while at the same time facilitating the exchange of technical expertise, particularly regarding modern machinery and sustainable land-management practices, to enhance the competitiveness of Eastern European rural economies;
It prepared the 3 candidate countries (Poland, Estonia, Latvia) to develop sectoral social dialogue in order to better cope with the adaptation period of the pre-accession strategy.
It also aimed at bridging the gap between contractors in the then-candidate Central and Eastern European countries and their Western European counterparts to ensure a unified representation at the EU level; it also aimed at exchanging data and helping the three countries to develop, in each national context, an information strategy and an action plan for sectoral social dialogue that ccould be transferred to other candidate countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
The project also aimed at identifying and integrating national federations from PECO countries into the CEETTAR framework;
