CEETTAR Project 03 "Le dialogue social pour mieux intégrer la dimension européenne" - VS/2001/0147
This Project aimed to enhance the representation of rural contractors in EU policy through social dialogue. Key objectives included professionalizing representation, developing safety standards, promoting skill recognition, and integrating "green" policies, ultimately shifting contractors into a more central role as essential service providers. By framing the project around the "European Dimension," CEETTAR successfully positioned contractors as "the backbone of rural development," moving them from the periphery to the centre of the Social Dialogue Committee for Agriculture. The initiative successfully established a framework for contractors to be recognized as a distinct professional category within the European social model. It strengthened the partnership with EFFAT (the European trade union federation for the sector), facilitating joint positions on occupational health, safety, and the "European dimension" of rural service provision.
