Content and Structure
This film looks at the desperate need for housing in post-war Europe, concentrating on a young French couple's desire to find a home after they have been bombed out of theirs. The narrative follows the search of Marcel and his wife for an uninhabited building or some land on which to build a house. They succeed in finding some land to build a temporary house and restart their lives. Also looks at the assistance countries are giving to one another, such as pre-fabricated houses from Finland being sent to Greece.
