Explains the construction of the Sud-européen pipeline between Marseille and Karlsruhe. This underground pipeline allows petrol to be transported from the East to reach the West without making the long sea voyage around Europe. Men of ten nationalities – technicians, peasants, etc. meet along the pipeline route which leaves no trace.
