Context
The Network on Quaternary Mammalian Faunas was approved by the ESF Executive Council in September 1990 and launched in January 1991. it was completed in mid-1993. An ESF Scientific Programme on "Climate and Fauna: a Database for Quaternary mammals in Europe" was then proposed.
The Chairman was Professor Wighart von Koenigswald from the University of Bonn.
