The Network on Surface Crystallography was launched in 1987 with the aim of aiding communication and collaboration on research between the various laboratories in Europe working on Surface Crystallography. In 1990 it was extended to Phase 2 which run until the end of 1993.
The Chairman of the Network was Professor John Pendry from the Imperial College of London.
