This Expert Committee has existed from 1990 - 1991 as the Committee of representatives from European Organisations which support nuclear physics. In January 1991 the Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee (NuPECC) was established for an initial three-year period.
In 1991 six subjects were being discussed by working groups: Nuclear structure, Hadronic physics with electrons, Physics with high-energy hadron beams, Quark-gluon plasma, Properties of nuclear and hadronic matter, Low-energy studies of fundamental interactions.
