Administrative and Biographical History

Antonio Cassese was born in Atripalda in 1937. After studying classics in Salerno he went to the "Scuola Normale Superiore" in Pisa where he obtained the degree in Law in 1958. He continued his studies at the "J. W. Goethe-Universität Frankfurt A. M." (1958-1959) and at the "Graduate Institute of International Studies" in Geneva (1959-1960).

Content and Structure

Abstract

The documents collected in this file provide information on Cassese's youth and studies. The file contains personal documents, certificates from high school and university studies and of attendance at post graduate institutes, applications, letters of recommendation written by Giuseppe Sperduti, Franco Pierandrei, Enrico Contieri, Flaminio Franchini.
The later documents consist of around twenty letters of condolence on the death of his sister Anna Maria in July 1989.

In addition to the paper documents, the file contains about thirty items dating from the 1950s until the first decade of the 2000s, including the university record book, the membership cards of the two political parties he belonged to during his youth, union cards, identification cards and passes for libraries and workplaces, the United Nations laissez-passer.
