Introducing the reform, a relevant change in the operational structure of ESRO was the creation of the Post of the Project manager, that a figure exclusively operational, who operated in rapid time in connection with the Director General and with the related Chairman of the Programme Board. The role of the Project Manager was also of international relevance, because he represented ESRO in the outsider development of single programme.
