Context
After the merging of ESRO and ELDO, the ESA Headquarters in Paris stored the files arranged by topics and according a related filing system.
The fonds was deposited at the HAEU under the terms of the deposit contract signed on 12 May 1989.

Content and Structure
The ELDO fonds enables the users to reconstruct the history of ELDO, the European organisation dedicated to launchers, who developed the Europa rocket series. Its organisational and financial winding history is reflected in the fact that a large part of documentation is related to the liquidation of ELDO. This fonds has an interesting appendix of documentation, in particular concerning the activities of the Guiana centre in Kourou.
Detailed descriptions are provided for the minutes and for the correspondence files.

The fonds is open for consultation, except contract series closed for 40 years since the creation of the file, documents marked as confidential and restricted
