David Drummond, son of Eric Drummond was an associate of Jean Monnet in the Monnet, Murname and Co. Shangai, a commercial and finance company and was its London representative.
The 17th Earl of Perth played an important role in modern Scottish affairs. He was a descendent, in the maternal line of St. Thomas More. He succeeded his father, the well known diplomat Earl of Perth in 1951.
As a member of the House of Lords he enthusiastically supports Scottish self-rule.
