Albert Ray Connelly graduated in law from Yale University and the Yale Law School. He spent his entire professional career, from 1932 to 1978, working in the renowned law firm, Cravath, Swaine and Moore where he became partner in 1941 and where he became particularly well known as an expert litigator and antitrust lawyer. From 1957 to 1958, he was chairman of the executive committee of the City Bar Association. Albert R. Connelly died on March 22, 2000 in Manhattan. He became acquainted with Jean Monnet during the 1930’s in New York.
