Pieter A. Blaisse started his carreer as secretary of the board at the Philips company. He was dismissed by the Germans. After the war, he entered the Ministry of Economic Affairs and was on the Dutch delegation to OEEC. He became also member of the European Parliament (Katholieke Volkspartij KVP) (1952-1967).
