1963: joins EURATOM, spending initially three years with the Enrico FERMI Fast Breeder Reactor in Detroit
1976: European Commission: Assistant and scientific advisor to the director General in charge of Science, Research and Development
1985-1987: member of the Cabinet of Vice-President Narjes with overall responsibility for Research and Technology – including involvement in the review and restructuring of the KRC.
Mid 1987 – July 1992: Director responsible for programs to stimulate European collaboration in research and mobility of scientists, prospective and strategic studies and the evaluation of research.
July 1992 – July 1994: Director responsible for RDT Actions in the field of Energy
