International Archival Material
Documents from [1911] to [1989]Identity Statement
Context
Material comprising photocopies of documents from various archival institutions where François Duchêne carried out his research for his biography of Monnet, Jean Monnet - The First Statesman of Interdependence, Norton 1994. The arrangement of the documents closely resembles the structure of the book. Duchêne's wish when depositing these documents in HAEC, was to reduce the workload of other researchers and historians in this field of study, by cenralising the papers concerning his research subject here. These documents cover a lot of ground and give a very thorough picture of the progress for European integration in the critical years, 1938-1963 in particular. Furthermore this collection serves to enhance the other collections held in the HAEC.
